With its origins in late nineteenth century Anglicanism, Advent Lessons & Carols is an intentional preparation for the celebration of Christmas.  It is a time to pray, sing and ponder over the sacred texts in common, a time to contemplate the great mystery of our Lord’s Incarnation and joyfully to anticipate his second coming. The story of the fall of humanity, the promise of the Messiah, and the birth of Jesus is told in nine Bible readings selected from the Book of Genesis, the prophetic books and the four Gospels, interspersed with the singing of Christmas carols, hymns and choir music.   Music director and organist, Chris Bohdanowicz, leads St. Paul's choir for this special Advent service.

The Christmas Eve service at St. Paul's is a joyful choral eucharist service to celebrate the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ.  Jesus was born over 2000 years ago but this is still such a special story, because Mary, Joseph and Jesus teach so much about family love. This is still such a special story too because Jesus’ birth in a barn, surrounded by farm animals and humble shepherds, reminds us that God loves ordinary creatures and ordinary people like us.  Music director and organist, Christ Bohdanowicz, leads St. Paul's choir for the Christmas Eve Service.
