2nd Lincoln Artillery Regiment re-enactors fire canon

Canon fire at Col James Kerby Memorial

On Sunday June 19th a memorial service complete with canons, muskets, bag pipes, and trumpets will be held for Colonel Kerby! Among his many accomplishments Colonel Kerby became the town warden of Bertie Township in 1826 and later the first postmaster in the township. Instrumental in establishing St Paul’s Church (Anglican) in Waterloo, he remained a warden of the church until his death.

We along with the Second Lincoln Regiment re-enactors hope this memorial remains an annual event.

Rivers and Tides will be screened at St. Paul’s Anglican Centre @ 7:00 p.m. Admission = items donated for C.O.P.E.

This documentary, winner of The Golden Gate Award at the 2002 San Francisco Film Festival, follows artist Andy Goldsworthy for about a year, capturing on film the process of his creative genius. Most of the time Goldsworthy’s work requires documentation by photographic imagery, since his art is, by nature, of nature itself, and therefore often subject to immediate decay. But now motion picture photography has documented Goldsworthy’s art, and it does so in such a way as to enlighten us in understanding the nature of the artist as well.
